FIRST-TIME USER TIPS:

1. VIZIO DISPLAY NAME.
Control all your supported VIZIO SmartCast Display/TV with Alexa. Use your display/TV name to tell Alexa which device to control when initiating a command. Pick a unique name for every display you set up.

2. POWER ON VOICE COMMAND
To power on your display/TV using a voice command, Quick Start mode must be enabled in your display’s settings. Using your remote, press the MENU key and select System. Scroll down to Power Mode and press the Right Arrow to enable Quick Start Mode.

3. SUPPORTED MODELS
This skill is supported on all 2017 SmartCast displays/TV and 2016 4K Ultra HD SmartCast displays.

4. TROUBLESHOOTING
If Alexa doesn't recognize your display/TV’s name, say: Alexa, discover my devices or try running discovery in your Alexa app.

5. VOICE CONTROL
You no longer need to use the display/TV’s name every time you speak to Alexa. Now, ONLY the first voice command requires you to say your TV/display name. Alexa will then assume any following commands will be directed to the same device for a period of time.

Here’s an example of what that might sound like…

You say, “Alexa, turn on Living Room TV”
Alexa says, “OK” and Living Room TV powers ON
You say, “Alexa, turn down the volume.”
Alexa says, “OK” and the Living Room TV volume goes down
You say, “Alexa, switch input to HDMI 1”
Alexa says, “OK” and switches input on Living Room TV.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Power Mode in TV Settings must be set to Quick Start Mode to power on using voice commands. Please note that by changing this setting the energy consumption required to operate display will change.

Feature only currently available with the Haystack TV, Pluto, and other live streaming content app providers and on 2017 SmartCast TVs with built-in OTA tuners.

** Initial launching of streaming content not available. Content must already be playing on your display/TV to access playback controls.
