My name is Hal Prescott, founder of Synergy Security. I’ve been involved with home and business security for over 20 years. I’ve seen just about every side of this industry - Unfortunately, honesty seems to come in small doses.

Many companies take advantage of the fact that most people are not educated about security technology. They sell you on “free” systems and charge an arm and a leg for monthly monitoring and lock you into a long term contract.

While this free sounds nice, the installation is almost always of very poor quality - putting your safety at risk. Our systems aren’t free - but the equipment you get is installed properly. On the flip side, our monthly monitoring service is far more affordable. In the long run, you save more, and the superior equipment keeps you safer.

I started Synergy Security because I’m passionate about security - and I felt it was about time someone did things the right way. As, a local security company we have the ability to provide faster turn around time on services calls with an easier line of communication, versus the large nation-wide companies. You will always be speaking to someone here locally when you call our local number, as well as having our monitoring station here in Halifax.

Also, you should be aware that your technician should hold a Provincial Alarm and Security Technician Certificate. While this is not a current law or regulation, it should be, and it is highly recommended that your technician is Provincially Certified. Don't be fooled by claims of being company certified. Ask to see their Provincial Certificate ID.
