HELLO SOOT! Soot is an online phenomenon in music, entertainment, fashion & life. It’s edgy, conscious and manic. Soot breaks the rules. It shies away from convention and boredom. Soot is a music, pop culture, fashion, tech, art, literature, love and life junkie. It aims to set trends and not just follow them. It’s not hipster, it’s not esoteric. It’s real. We wanted to make sure quality and substance had a place online, just as it has been in print media for many years. Readers have been experiencing fatigue from too many sub-standard articles online. Soot's aim is to change this. Our mission is that you can count on us so we can count on you.

WHY SOOT? Soot was created to fill the gap. Soot is concisious. It is gracious. Readers are restless in this day of instant updates, social media and websites. Magazines have become stale and boring with their tight-knit selection of what they will cover. Online magazines are in competition on Twitter with who can re-word the latest tweet or press release and get it out there first. While many churn out mindless drivel with little to no regard for the quality, accuracy or language of their content, Soot dares to be different.

SOOT'S PEEP SHOW Our contributors are a bunch of misfits with a punk sensibility but still subscribe to everyday reality. There is no outdated formula here – everything is on the cards. If we love it, we will feature it. If we think it’s going to go the distance, we will support it. There is nothing too zany for Soot. We want it all. Our writers and photographers contribute to national magazines, including Rolling Stone Australia, Australian Penthouse, Australian Guitar, and Gibson Australia, as well as overseas publications, such as Q Magazine. Our supporters include many ARIA-award winning bands, industry individuals and music's newcomers.
