That’s seriously how SO started (albeit under a different name) in 2004.

High school ended that year for us but that sense of positivity and idealism didn’t.

People wanting to speak out, be heard and take on the world —­ it’s a common story, right?

Yes.

But SO is just that ­— it’s that space where everyday people speak out and help others to speak out too.

You don’t have to be a writer or a journalist to express your thoughts, ideas and opinions with others. You just have to be human.

More people are joining the SO movement; bringing with them their dreams, ingenuity and personalities.

And so it continues to grow, catch on and become more meaningful beyond expectations.

Why?

Because when people speak out about what they’re passionate about, it inspires others to do the same.

SUBSTANCE - Getting to the core of things. SO is all about the core ­ not the hard core ­ when it comes to talking about the things that really matter in life. We all want to know the truth about ourselves and this world we’re living in ­and we’re here to seek it! But sieving the superficial to find the substance isn’t such an easy task.

STYLE - Show us how it’s done. SO we all know that trends come and go ­ but who even sets them in the first place? Why not you? It takes just one person to get the ball rolling. From fashion and beauty, art and design, music and writing, to craft and DIY, there’s so much scope for creative thought and expression!

SO… can you show us what real style looks like?

SOCIAL - Share it! SO know what’s the buzz on the street? Then share it with us! We may all be online these days but nothing replaces seeing and hanging out with people in the real world. Why not give us an insight into a piece of the world that’s inspired you? Whether it’s a big event or a cool pokey hideout, we want to know.

SPORT - Week in, week out. Life long lessons from the game. SO whether you’ve been kicking goals since you were a kid or have developed a new found love for a team, SO believes sports can inspire people to grow, reach their full potential and positively impact our communities well beyond the home ground. SO wants in on all the action in the sporting world!

SCHOOL (OF LIFE) - ­ Live and learn (with and without books). SO we spend a good deal of our time learning. There’s no doubt about that. But how do we take it all on? How do we get to where we want to go, or be the person we want to be? Whatever we face —­ a person, a place or an event ­— we want to make the most of life. Live it. Embrace it. Love it!
