This skill works with both SmartThings and Samsung Connect.

With the SmartThings / Samsung Connect skill for Alexa, you can now control a wide range of Works with SmartThings devices such as connected lights, switches, dimmers, outlets, thermostats, and door locks with your voice.

Connected lights, switches, and dimmers from Philips Hue, LIFX, OSRAM Lightify, Cree, GE, and Leviton:
· Alexa, turn on the Bedroom light
· Alexa, turn off the Hallway lights
· Alexa, dim the Living Room lights
· Alexa, dim the Living Room lights to 25%
· Alexa, brighten the Kitchen lights
· Alexa, brighten the Kitchen lights to 75%
· Alexa, set the Bedroom lights to green
· Alexa, set the Hallway lights to red
· Alexa, set the Living Room lights to warm white
· Alexa, set the Living Room lights to cool white

Connected outlets from SmartThings, GE, Leviton, and iHome:
· Alexa, turn on the Bedroom fan
· Alexa, turn on the Coffee Machine
· Alexa, turn off the Living Room lamp

Connected thermostats from ecobee and Honeywell:
· Alexa, set Kitchen temperature to 72 degrees
· Alexa, decrease the Kitchen temperature
· Alexa, increase the Kitchen temperature
· Alexa what is the temperature in the house?
· Alexa, what is my thermostat set to?

Connected door locks from Yale, Schlage, and Kwikset:
· Alexa, lock the Front Door.
· Alexa, lock the Kitchen Door.
· Alexa, is the Front Door locked?
Note that unlocking connected door locks is not supported at this time.

Troubleshooting: For SmartThings account users, if you have problems linking your account and are redirected to a Samsung account login page, please close the login page and restart the account linking flow.

GETTING STARTED

To get started, select the “Enable Skill” button in the Alexa App to link your SmartThings or Samsung Connect account and discover your devices.

There are three ways that you can control devices using the SmartThings / Samsung Connect skill for Alexa:

1. SmartThings / Samsung Connect Devices: You can use the device names you set up already in the SmartThings or Samsung Connect app to control individual devices. For example:
· Alexa, turn on the Bedroom Fan
· Alexa, turn off the Living Room Lamp
· Alexa, brighten the Kitchen Light

2. SmartThings Routines: You can use the routine names you set up already in the SmartThings app to control multiple devices.
For example:
· Alexa, turn on Good Morning
· Alexa, turn on Good Night
· Alexa, turn on Party Time

Samsung Connect users must set up and managed their Routines via the SmartThings mobile app.

3. Alexa Groups: You can also use Alexa groups to control multiple devices, though it is recommended to only include similar types of devices with an Alexa group. For example:
· Alexa, turn on the Bedroom Lights
· Alexa, dim the Living Room Lights
· Alexa, brighten the Kitchen Lights

Note: The SmartThings / Samsung Connect skill for Alexa can use SmartThings Routines to control compatible lights, switches, dimmers, outlets, and thermostats. Routines that include actions such as unlocking doors or opening garage doors are not supported at this time.
