Michael Grossman is an American who was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After his first Discovery Dive at the age of 15 he was hooked and never looked back. Michael went on to become a PADI Diving Professional; certified as both a Dive Master and PADI Instructor. His passion for exploration and ocean conservation never wavered, and after completing his instructor training on Redang Island he found himself asking ‘What’s next?’. In 2010, he packed his bags and left for the US to attend the renowned Commercial Diving Academy. After graduation, he took his first job in Portland, Oregon and did it all, from salvaging sunken boats to welding underwater. After 4 years in the US, Michael moved back home to KL in pursuit of offshore commercial dive work. When he is not offshore, he is teaching his scuba students to become the best divers they can be. He is known for his ability to put his students at ease with his friendly demeanor and student-centered teaching style. His students always feel completely safe because not only is Michael a First Aid/CPR Instructor but he is also a certified Dive Medic Technician. He is trained to handle any diving related incident. You’d be hard pressed to find a student who didn’t love their time learning from Michael, his passion for diving and teaching is clear from the get go!
