Irv Gikofsky — you know him as Mr. G — has been delivering forecasts on New York television for 40 years.

Mr. G began his career as a middle-school teacher in the Bronx and was recruited right out of the classroom to become a TV weatherman in 1977. Since 1993, he has been forecasting on PIX11, the proud home of New York's most popular weatherman.

Mr. G has always been on the cutting edge — he brought New York's first computerized weather program to his high-school kids in the 1970s. Today, he's the first New York weatherman to join Alexa.
