mairai in the i-Taukei language means “come see”. The website was borne of frustrations when trying to find businesses and contact details or basic information like opening hours. This was the core driver for the creation of our Fiji Business Directory which we believed needed to be differentiated from other directory websites in the Fiji market, hence the inclusion of the Classifieds section.

Current Fiji websites provide either a business listing or a classifieds service but most were found to be:

• Not user friendly
• Lacking in basic business-related information such as operating hours or range of products and services provided
• Employing a cumbersome search facility

With mairai having both the Business Directory and Classifieds on the one website, the integration of social media was only natural and an exciting step in this journey. So far, social platforms have been underutilised in Fiji but mairai is changing this with a cohesive and professional approach to digital marketing and providing feedback for you, justifying your investment.

With these goals, Waisiliva Technologies Limited was formed in late 2015 with mairai being its first website for the Fiji market.
