Amazon Alexa and MMI SMART LIVING are now working together to help you control you’re lightning and smart devices with a simple voice command.

Luminous Simple Smart Lighting skill allows you to simply ask Alexa to turn ON or OFF your devices, Dim & Brighten or even change the colors of your lighting environment. Plus enjoy a variety of controls for different devices we offer that can be controlled though our application.

Luminous skill will allow Alexa to recognize any device added to your list even if the device has a personalized name. It will also control any groups created in your Luminous smart application. This will give you the capability of controlling multiple devices simultaneously.

All these functions are available on your Alexa, Echo Dot, Fire TV, Echo or Tap.

Steps to download and set up Luminous Smart Life mobile application & Amazon Alexa setup:


1. Please download the Luminous Smart Life application on the Apple Store or Google play store.
(Find it under Luminous Smart Life or click link above)

2. Sign up using phone number or email and create your user account (Using email is mostly preferred) and create a personalized password that is easy to remember.

3. Click on add device and choose the type of item you wish to control (If using Luminous light bulb please choose RGB 5W bulb).

4. Once device is chosen, it will take you a next screen where it shows the device blinking fast which means it is in pairing mode.( click on confirm light rapidly blinking)

5. You will now see a different screen asking for your Wi-Fi password (Please Enter)

6. You will now see connecting now with a circle syncing until it gets to 100% and finds the device you are trying to control. Once item is found you will have the option to rename device or simply enter the control screen.

You now have gained control of your device or lights with a digital color wheel which allows you to:

Turn ON or OFF, Dim & Brighten, Set a Timer or a Scene and even control multiple items at once with grouping functionality or simply control of the device you added if it’s not the smart bulb.

Steps to add Luminous Skill to Alexa:

After downloading the Alexa application on Apple Store or Google play store.

1. Search for Luminous on Alexa skill store and click enable and you will be redirected to Luminous Smart Life application, Then input your username and password (created on Luminous Smart Life application) and you will now be redirected to the success page.

2. Enable skill Luminous in Alexa application

3. Discover available devices with Alexa

4. Wait up to 20 second for Alexa to find

5. Once Alexa finds your device you will see it on your list of devices added

6. You can now ask Alexa to Turn ON or OFF, Dim & Brighten and even Change the color of your Luminous lightbulb as well as control multiple items at once with grouping functionality. If you have added a different device other than our lightbulb you can simply ask Alexa to perform the specific function that is allowed using that device. For example our smart socket which is turned OFF or ON by Alexa only.

“Alexa, dim by <50> percent”

“Alexa, set bedroom light to cool white”
“Alexa, set kitchen light to green”
