Kevin Mark Burkett - Author

Kevin was born in the United Kingdom, but has spent most of his adult life living in southern Africa. He was educated through the old British Grammar School system during which time he also spent three years serving in the Air Training Corps as a young man trying to find his niche in life. After leaving school he turned down the opportunity to become a cartographer in favour of the allure of a working life in the diamond industry where he spent the next ten years prospecting, buying, valuating and polishing diamonds, often in the most unlikeliest places. Trekking through the Lesotho mountains alongside a prospector armed only with a shovel and a dream taught me the true value of hardship. Seeking a new challenge he then embarked on a career in international logistics, whilst also continuing his education by attending university to study Business Management. It was during this time that he first developed his avid thirst for travel. Since then he has traveled widely in a neverending quest to satisfy his passion for experiencing different cultures and exploring history.

His hobbies include reading, travel and a wide variety of sports.

He is married with two children and currently resides in Cyprus with his wife.

Novgorod is his first novel. His second novel, Kollur Blue, is scheduled for release in mid-2014.
