It all started in 2008 when I found my estranged biological Mother on social media (the current state of the internet) Not only did I find her but I had an entire family reunion! I was 19 years old and I was learning fast that this would change the way that people connect and communicate forever. Shortly After meeting my Mother in almost 20 years, the first Android Smartphone dropped and I knew that the way that we do day to day things was headed in a different direction. Fast forward to now the year 2017 (going on '18) and I have overcome 5 years of chronic homelessness while fighting mental health, caring for a significant other, graduated college with a degree, and learned how to craft a valuable skill. I learned how to train my mind and my body like a soldier but today I have been living with serious sports injuries like Inguinal Hernias and Hip Labrum tears due to overworking myself both physically and mentally. I still face obstacles that I must overcome and I push my limits on a daily basis, this is my journey. A story of resilience from a Product of the system to a Product Designer. - Jonathan Martinez
