Since early 2015, Gather Online has given its small community of beta testers the opportunity to meet with others who share their interests. Public and private gatherings took place over 7 days, on topics of the host's choice, after which they abruptly ended. This time-limit ensures all participants are current, active, and under pressure to make the most of the conversation. Started in Sydney, Australia as a response to what the founders saw as a shallowness to most social interactions (both on and offline), Gather Online aims to bring people together in high-velocity engaging conversation over mutual interests, with the aim of establishing relevant connections.
