I once worked as a Victorian maid. And I just missed out on Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy’s dance at the Netherfield Ball.

If you’re now suspecting that I’ve secretly mastered time travel* then the truth is more mundane: I once had a job in a living history museum and I was almost an extra in the movie Pride and Prejudice but I fell ill when filming began (which was a disappointment as I had a very pretty dress to wear).

I don’t have a favorite historical period: I find them all equally fascinating.

I love mysteries because I love problem-solving. I enjoy finding an Agatha Christie story I haven’t read yet and trying to work out who the culprit is before the end.

Writing historical mysteries combines my love of history and mystery and also another love: writing. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them.
