Charlie
Hello,
I would like to introduce you to Charlie, your money-saving prodigy penguin!
Like Emperor penguins who are known for the zeal with which they protect their eggs until they hatch, Charlie the Penguin bot was created to help the seventy-six percent of Americans that have nothing saved grow their nest egg.
Charlie is the AI assistant for people who don’t speak finance. He can pick up any financial mistake, keep an eye on spending, flag danger, find easy money, and can even speak GIF.
Charlie was built on one core secret: Most people don’t actually want to think about money or look at charts/graphs, but everyone wants to do the right thing at the right time with their money … they just often don’t have access to know what that is.
With a ton of apps already out there, young Americans are still struggling with money. What Charlie provides is actionable and simple advice that provides confidence to do the right thing, at the right time, and to not worry about money the rest of the time.
So how does Charlie differentiate himself in the space?
Simple – Charlie takes the immense complexity of users’ finances and boils its advice down to 140 characters or less. No obscure paragraphs, no charts, no spreadsheets. Just simple answers to complicated questions.
Underserved demographic – We are not here to help a few well-off millennials find the right investments; we are here to help everyday people manage their everyday finances. Our user demographics reflect that.
Millennial women – 76% of our signups are women, with an average age of 27. Most personal finance products are used by men.
‘Real’ America – Our biggest metropolitan area is Houston; our most penetrated state is Utah. In contrast, most personal finance products serve and are used by the tech-savvy, high-earning coastal crowd.
‘Real’ Finances – Our typical users earn less than $50,000 (the median salary in the US), have credit card debt, and the top 3 places where they spend money are McDonalds, Amazon, and Walmart.
And Charlie’s success is in the numbers! Charlie has already helped people pay down $3 million in credit card debt, and saves users on average $80 a week.
Now that is some penguin!
