Champaign County Citizens Allied for Residents' Eldercare is a grassroots organization with the mission of supporting the Champaign County Nursing Home in the April 4th Referendum Questions (two) on the ballot.

1. Vote YES to raise the Champaign County Nursing Home property tax levy to fund the Nursing Home! The State of Illinois is currently shorting the Nursing Home $200,000 a month!

2. Vote NO on the right to dispose of or sell the Champaign County Nursing Home!

The Nursing Home is a very important resource in our community. At the Nursing Home, around 60%-70% of patients are on Medicaid, but at private nursing homes, they tend to take only 10% and many do NOT accept any Medicaid patients. Longterm eldercare is unfortunately very costly and many patients spend down all of their financial assets over an extended time period and then have no other choice but to take Medicaid coverage. This is a situation that many financially sound middle-class individuals experience when faced with high healthcare needs. Also, Medicaid is a program depended on by many individuals with disabilities, intensive injuries and low income members of our society.

The Champaign County Nursing Home has existed for over 100 years and its upon us to fight to ensure that this important and sacred tradition continues for future generations.
