August Smart Home

With the August Smart Home skill and Alexa, you can now
1. view live feeds from the August Doorbell Cam on your Echo Show, all generations of Fire TV, second generations of Fire TV stick and Fire TV Edition smart TVs,
2. check the status of your August Smart Lock, and
3. lock the door.

To see video, you'll need an August Doorbell Cam.

To control an August Smart Lock, you'll need the August Smart Lock plus an August Doorbell Cam or the August Smart Lock and an August Connect.

1. Enable the August Smart Home skill within Skills section of the Alexa App to link your August account and discover your device(s). Look for the black August logo.
2. Ensure that you have a good WiFi signal to the August Connect or August Doorbell Cam
3. Ask Alexa, discover my devices or discover the devices through the Alexa app.
4. If you also want to unlock your August Smart Lock, enable the August Home skill within the Alexa App. Look for the red August logo.

After connecting your Alexa to your August Doorbell Cam and August Smart Lock, you can say things like,
Alexa, show me the Front Door camera.
Alexa, is the Front Door locked?
Alexa, lock the Front Door.

To unlock the Front Door, you must install a separate skill, the August Home skill (with the red August logo). This is available in the “Skills” section of the Alexa app. Then you can say:
Alexa, ask August to unlock the Front Door.
Alexa will then prompt you for a PIN code which you can set up when you linked the Alexa skill to your August account.
